Douro Quinta do Cachão

Quinta do Cachão is situated at the bank of the river, in the Cima Corgo the most rugged and beautiful region of deep Douro. This vineyard was first planted in 1845 by Barão do Seixo, and was later acquired by the Afonso Cabralâs family, which in turn sold to Messias in the year 1956. In order to increase its production, Messias acquired in 1958, a border property, Quinta do Rei, owned by Gonzalez Byass.
Terroir Extending down the slopes of a hill topped by a small chapel dedicated to Santa Barbara, Quinta do Cachao currently occupies 200 ha, of which half is vineyards, classified with the letter A, the highest category on the scale of the Douro. The varieties are naturally, the regionãos traditional able to produce either the Port or the wine with Denomination of Origin Douro. The Touriga Franca and Tinta Roriz, constitute the dominant varieties, followed by Touriga Nacional, Tinta Barroca and Tinto Cão.

Dão Quinta do Penedo

Quinta do Penedo with an area of 20 ha, is located in the heart of the demarcated region of its origin as Dão. A came back to the year 1930, by the hand of Mr. General da Costa Lobo and remained in the family until 1998, when it was acquired by the Messias. Terroir
In order to modernize the vineyard, the Messias restructured part of the estate in 2000. Touriga Nacional and Alfrocheiro are the varieties of new crops, but is now reaching full production. A remaining area consists of a variety of castes as Tinta Roriz, Jaen, Tinto Cão, among others. As varieties are planted naturally in the region and is therefore able to produce wines with Denomination of Origin (DOC). Besides vineyards, Quinta also has Pine and Cherry in full production.

Bairrada Quinta do Valdoeiro

Quinta do Valdoeiro is one of the most beautiful and well-structured estate of the Bairrada DOP region. Currently with 130 hectares, 70 of which planted with vines, where soils of low fertility, poor, consisting of a first layer of sandy loam and another deeper, clayey and compact consistency. A slight wave of relief, the sunny slopes facing south and east and the deployment of varieties, separated by plots, taking into account the best exposure, are also factors that contribute to the quality of the grapes produced there.Terroir From 1985, the Messias, having already crucial strategy as control of the raw material for the production of high quality wines, conducted the gradual restruturation of the vineyards of Quinta do Valdoeiro, having been selected the varieties suited to the strategic objectives of the company, committed to compete effectively in national and international markets.\r\n\r\nLocalization – Vacariça – Mealhada\r\nD.O.C. – Bairrada – Beira Atlantico  Area – 130 hectares Soil – Lime Clay chalky
